We have already successfully had all relevant anchor points and lifeline systems certified in accordance with the new European standard DIN EN 17235:2025. In doing so, we are proactively implementing the requirements that will in future define the European standard for permanently installed fall arrest systems and safety roof hooks.

DIN EN 17235:2025 replaces and harmonises key elements of the previous standards EN 795 and EN 517. Since its publication in the Official Journal of the EU on 9 February 2026, DIN EN 17235:2025 has been recognised as a harmonised standard and is therefore legally binding under the EU Construction Products Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 for the construction products concerned.

DIN EN 17235 applies to all permanently installed fall protection systems: Anchor points and safety roof hooks, as well as lifeline and rail systems. Temporary systems, such as our Primo 16 AG 1 or the Lifeline system BR 8 Temporary are not affected and remain covered by DIN EN 795.

Existing systems remain exempt from the new requirements provided they have been installed and documented in accordance with the relevant standards. Replacement is not required in such cases.

At the same time, a coexistence period applies until 9 August 2027. During this transitional phase, existing certificates such as ETA and abZ remain valid, but must be replaced by certificates in accordance with EN 17235 by that date. In addition to certification in accordance with DIN EN 17235, proof of applicability in the form of a general type approval (aBG) or a project-specific type approval (vBG) is still required. For the time being, we will continue to label our products with the existing certifications.

By obtaining certification at an early stage, we ensure that our products are already geared towards future requirements and that our customers can plan with confidence for the years ahead.
