Restraint systems for flat roofs

Restraint system - what is it?

Restraint systems come in many forms. The best-known restraint system, which most people use every day, is the normal car seat belt. But there are also restraint systems outside the car that protect people from danger every day.

Restraint systems are also used to secure people on flat roofs.

Restraint systems on roofs

Restraint systems in general are designed to secure the user. In a car, the belt secures the user from hitting the steering wheel or console in the event of an accident.

On flat roofs, restraint systems are used to keep the persons to be secured away from the edge of the fall. Fall restraint systems are therefore among the most preventive measures. By keeping people away from the edge of the fall, the risk to which people on the roof are exposed is minimized considerably.

Restraint system Anchor point/rope safety system

Restraint systems on flat roofs can be implemented using anchor points or lifeline systems. The user establishes a connection between the restraint system and their personal fall protection equipment using a suitable lanyard. A rope shortener helps to adjust the length of the lanyard so that the fall edge can no longer be reached.
